What: Practice Labs Website Data Centre Migration

When: 14th Dec, 0700-1000am (GMT) / 0200-0500 (EST)

Why: We are migrating the core Practice Labs websites out of our London (ULCC) Data Centre to our new Data Centre (CDC) as part of our core strategy to upgrade our security and 3rd party service resilience in lab delivery.

Impact: To protect customers during the migration from a potentially disruptive failover we will be putting all Data Centres into Maintenance from 0600. At 0600, all lab servers will enter maintenance mode meaning that no further labs will be served allowing existing customers to finish off their work. At 0650, customers logged into the platform will be advised to logout of the platform in preparation for the 0700 maintenance start. Access to the platform may be available before 1000am however we recommend access be avoided until after 1000am. Please monitor our status page for updates.

WHAT: Emergency Firewall patching in our Atlanta (ATL01) data centre.

WHEN: Saturday 15th Oct between 0900-1200 UK / 0400-0700 Eastern time.

WHY: We are required to complete emergency Firewall security patching in our Atlanta Data Centre (ATL01) as part of compliance. During this time the Firewalls will be required to failover and failback from Passive to Active modes as part of the maintenance activity. The exact times of the failovers are difficult to specify in advance.

IMPACT: During this maintenance window, we will be keeping the ATL01 data centre in service. During the failing over process learners connected to active Lab devices may need to use the Reconnect button to re-establish a connection to your lab devices. This action may be required one or many times throughout the maintenance period. Our LDN01 and DRT01 Data Centres will not be impacted at all during this time frame.
